Description

As part of the PROFile Group series ‘Making an Impact’, this event will highlight the opportunities and experiences of engaging with Schoolteachers to promote and disseminate research. In addition to other benefits for your department and the University, this can be a valuable pathway to impact for case studies.

The session will include a presentation from Amy Sanders, the Strategy and Impact Manager for the Wellcome Trust who oversaw their school resources project The Crunch. We will have presentations from colleagues in different disciplines, talking about their experiences and tips for working with Schools at both primary and secondary levels, and a ‘What Teachers Want’ panel will look at how to approach, engage with, and evidence impact through Schools and non HEI education.

We plan to explore areas such as contacting schools and teacher networks for research, fitting research with a syllabus, teacher training, resource packs, and other methods of working with Schools.

All disciplines have the potential to interact with schoolteachers, and this event will be relevant to researchers from all subject areas, and all Faculties. PGR students are very welcome to attend.

Due to space restrictions, this event is only open to University of Liverpool staff and students.
